Nice grammar point! Wish I heard this lesson before the JLPT. There was a question using this one. Evidently, I got it wrong.

Yes. “Ki o ushinau” and “Kizetsu suru” are very similar.
私は気を失いました。watashi wa ki o ushinai mashita.
