Mina-san, Kitajima refers to a place called ピューロランド which isn’t so famous outside of Japan. Here at JPod World HQ, we like to call it Hello Kitty Land. It’s, ummm… like Disneyland but, ummm… without the rides. It’s famous throughout Japan with the yakuza, who love its musical shows, parades and, of course, the chocolate factory. There many quiet places for mob bosses to relax and discuss business. 日本語 (the original Japanese site in all its glory) http://www.puroland.co.jp 英語 (English site) http://www.puroland.co.jp/english/welcome.html 한국 (for our KoreanClass friends): http://www.puroland.co.jp/korea/welcome.html

Puroland looks boooooooooooooring
I can totally picture these guidos drooling over kitty-chan at that place! Thanks for the links!

I tried to listen to the women behind, with the seagulls.
I think they are speaking of Aoyama, but I don’t understand what they sell or show. Aoyama nagasa or nakasa?

Welcome to my world, drool-boy!
But seriously, is it me, or is masculine style Japanese hard core?

Like, it’s a bit scarey!
Kitty-chan

I can see this す sounds like it to be hard to pick up in conversation. Is it really as polite as the unbutchered form? What sort of situation would/wouldn’t you use it in?
By the way, I think Naomi’s manliness definitely needs some work

That first sentence is a good example of why you should pay attention when using voice recognition

Javizyさん
Try handwriting recognition. I just got a Penpower Jr. new off eBay, and I couldn’t even get your name tapped out. I don’t have a problem tapping things out on my PDA. Apparently, I need to get used to pressing harder with the stylus.

Alainさん, those girls are handing out Hot Pepper!
it’s a monthly magazine with advertisements for restaurants and other businesses and usually full of coupons or explains some special discount for the month. unique versions of the magazine are passed out in different parts of tokyo. the one they’re passing out covers Aoyama, Akasaka and Shibuya.

is it just me, or is Yoshikaiさん’s yakuza voice AWESOME?

ヨシカイの声は巣部らしいですね。
でも、そんな声あまり分からない。
Peter先生となおみ先生~若者の日本語は本当に難しいですよね!

Puroland, I think only kids go there to see Kitty-chan. mmm… I never heard my friends say “I went to Puroland yesterday!”
Hot Pepper(ホットペッパー)、マジで、チョー使えるっすよ!色々な店で、割引があります。

Alain-san, if you are staying in Japan and you could find Hot Pepper on the street luckily, grab one and go to Izakaya. Hot Pepper girls always wear on red shirts and cowboy hat. You can definitely notice them
