Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com! Will a three-hundred dollar designer Italian umbrella keep you drier than an umbrella you bought at a Japanese store for one dollar? If they’re the same size, I don’t think so. Will the three-hundred dollar Italian umbrella last longer than your one-dollar Japanese umbrella? I certainly hope so. Will it look better and be the envy of your friends in Japan? For three-hundred dollars, I think it should turn your friends green with envy, and show YouTube videos on the inside, and make your breakfast, and then serve it to you in bed. Now that’s a three-hundred dollar umbrella worth having! Have you ever seen an umbrella that costs 28,000 Japanese yen? I haven’t, but I wonder what makes an umbrella cost that much? Style versus function in Japan, it’s not just about staying dry anymore!!
