Bob1-san,
He didn’t say “dotte”. He said “datte” which means “because”.
Yeah, actually that might sound like twisting “o” sound, cuz the voice actor tried saying like a kid.
Plus, even Japanese people might mistake to hear that one as “dotte” う～ん、むずかしいですね～

By the way, “dotte” means nothing in Japanese.

I noticed that in Reo’s last line that starts “Datte”, he twists the vowel into an “o” sound, so that it comes out “Dotte”. Is this a male pronunciation?

みなさん、元気ですか。

Well, I don’t know much about Manga, but what I wanted to say about this lesson is that I loved the dialogue being repeated at the end of it. I was about to write a comment about it and there you come!!! Great, I believe it helps a lot to review what was said after the explanations.

Great job!!!

Maxiewawa-san, great job with the video, too. I tried to do one, but I didn’t like it, so I’ve already deleted it from my computer. I also don’t know if I’ll be able to do it again soon, if I do, I’ll send you an e-mail about it.

Concerning the DNS issue, what worked for me was to enter 4.2.2.3 (which is Google’s nameservers) manually in the TCP/IP preferences of my computer. This was suggested to me by Eran some months ago in a similar situation.

I suppose I can return to the default dhcp configuration (i.e. using my provider’s names server) after some time.
At least now it works like a charm. Hope this helps in case someone is still in trouble.

For completeness: I also flushed my local cache (on Mac OS X) using the terminal command lookupd -flushcache and restarted iTunes, but this alone did not seem to have any effect.

I just checked out some of the old intermediate lessons I skipped over. Originally, I couldn’t understand them either, but I can catch a good amount of it too now. I’ve been watching ドラえもん on YouTube, that seems a lot harder to understand than the intermediate lessons Sweet, I’m learning! I think the crazy voices are whats throwing me off

I am terribly sorry to hear that you are still unable to access the audio. We are seeing an upturn in the number of downloads which indicates a good portion of the name servers have updated and are now resolving correctly for libsyn.com domains.

It is hard for us to give a blanket ETA as right now it’s totally dependent on local ISP’s and even home computer DNS caches. It is tremendously frustrating to know what the problem is but have no way to improve the situation.

I do know that the fix suggested by クリストファーさん worked for many of our listeners. Here are some more specifics steps to implement it:

) Using your favorite text editor, open your system’s hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts or c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts or on Windows XP and /etc on Max OS X)

2) Add the following 3 lines to the bottom of the file:

216.246.5.5 media.libsyn.com
38.100.193.81 media.libsyn.com
205.234.175.175 cache.libsyn.com

3) Save the file

This will force your machine to resolve the correct IP addresses and allow it to download the audio.
