Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com! Earlier this week we announced the launch of the Dialog and Review premium clips, but we saved the best for the latter part! Today, we are glad to announce the much anticipated release of two more essential premium features which are sure to take your writing and speaking skills to new heights.
The Kana Stroke Order Videos show you the proper stroke order for all basic Hiragana and Katakana characters, and to address speaking practice, we have integrated a state-of-the-art software to allow you to record your own voice so you can compare your pronunciation to our teachers and continue to refine your speaking skills. 皆さん、いかがでしょうか。Mina-san, ikaga deshou ka? What do you think?
sounds great ![]()
only thing i dont like is that its for premiumsubscribers
and peter, without your voice jpod101 isnt jpod101
Mina-san,
When accessing the Line-By-Line Audio Transcript to try out the new Pronunciation Practice feature you may see an Applet Authentication window pop up (see images below). It is absolutely safe to trust and run the Applet as it using a digital certificate has been verified and authenticated by Thawte.

Unreal! This is one of the things I have been looking for on JPOD101. Peter-san and everyone else - YOU ROCK! You just keep getting better with age.
Arigatou gozaimasu!!!!
Nate
EXCELLENT NEW TUNE! I’m going to try to be an active contributer to both jpod and kc in the future. I hope two difficult lanuages will be too much for me. Tokorode, Peter we do like your voice
Great job guys!
I like the pronunciation practice feature — but will your server store those practice clips??? Please promise not to use them as comic intros to lessons…or as ghost story sound effects…
Yes, Peter, your voice, and your humor, really spice things up.
Thanks.
- Marymoore
Marymoore-san,
Haha… Fear not, the practice clips are not store on our servers. Hmmm… but now that you’ve come up with such a clever way for us to use them, we might have to reconsider our decision not to store them
- Eran
The “new tune” is nice — reminds me of what you used for the iLove videos.
Isn’t it?
I just can’t believe all that is happening!!
It’s fantastic!
I had been longing for “voice practice” and this makes it so easy! I think this feature alone should attract Premium subscriptions! I was surprised that the “record feature” is on EVERY LESSON!! I went way back and tried some earlier lessons. As to the recording, the playback made my voice sound deeper than it is,but the general pronunciation was the same. Maybe you should add a note on that feature that your voice is not “saved” on the site, etc. Peter tried to make everyone feel comfortable about recording our own voices! Thanks, Peter, and I agree with JockZon, we do love your voice.
(New York accent and all!
)
To those who are considering getting a Premium Subscription, you should beg, borrow or steal the money to get it now.
JP101 crew/listeners!
