Is not かりる (to borrow) normally written as 借りる, not 貸りる ? Did I get something wrong? Thanks, Jean-Michel Hi みなさん,

I'm a little rusty with my nihongo, but can't you use desho in place of daro? Isn't it just a little more formal? Ofcourse I am referring to using it in the context of when you want to say that you think something is some way or will be some way. Also, I'd appreciate it if someone could refer me to a website that has a free download of Japanese so that I don't have to you romaji! Thanks! Donna I was wondering about “desho” and “daro”. He had the book ready to check out, but it turned out he already had 7 books out, which is the max. So they said they'd order it in from another branch? Does that mean it's ok to have more than 7 as long as they've not all from the same branch? What a generous library =) It's like they're guiding him through their loophole! I was thinking "procure" might work as an english version of おとりよせ. Hey, this didn’t make sense to me.
