Peter-San mentioned that Kim used the Japanese way to address herself. Actually it’s kind of the East Asian way. Chinese, Japanese and Korean all use this ‘Family name - Given name’ structure.

I don’t understand. Where do I begin? i started with Lesson # 1 and so forth and now there is another lesson where I was supposed to start with.

遅く is the adverbial form of 遅い, it means “slow” or “late.”
but in Japanese “to be late” is it’s own verb. 遅れる.
so i’d recommend saying 遅れてすみません “i’m sorry for being late.”
お待たせしました is “I’m sorry for making you wait.”

because sometimes i walk into class late and ill i know to say is すみません。 got any advice for saying something like sorry that I’m late or something???
