Mina-san, your net groupies are here. They’re waiting for your response.

Mina-san, Nihon wa ikaga desu ka?

I love how phrase-omissions are often used in Japanese. I can walk up to a pretty girl and say to her “suki” and then observe how she responds. If she responds positively, then jackpot! Otherwise, I can always get out of the awkward moment by following up with “kore ga daisuki desu” while pointing to some random object around me. Now if I can only find some Japanese girls….

Haha, I had a similar conversation the other day. Nice things I added were

I sent my first e-mail to this person in 丁寧語 and the reply started off with「日本語上手だね」 and here I thought switching to the informal would be difficult

What a difficult question!
Because everyone at the site is learning Japanese, I think everyone will say that they like Japan.

avatar markystar says:

Javizyさん、good answer!

avatar Daniel Beck says:

avatar Yamanchu says:

Have they used Nippon here instead of Nihon because it’s more polite or does it, in this instance flow better gramatically? Just trying to understand why they said ‘Nippon’ instead of ‘Nihon’.

avatar デボン says:

I miss the vending machines…

avatar Yuki says:

avatar bakaneko says:

A little too quick in the classical question set:
you already answered the question “nihon no ryori ha taberaremasuka?” (Sushi, sashilmi, natto …).

But for the next lesson there’s still :
“ofuro ni hairu koto ga dekimasu ka? Hontou ni? Atsui desu ne!!!”

Then comes the confusing silence, all the question set for gaijin is over.
