Hey Marky, my favorite quote from Peter of all time, "Abuse The Grammar!" I will follow his instructions!

Faye, if you like cartoons try My Neighbor Totoro(となりのトトロ). It was mentioned in an earlier lesson. It's a kids movie, I realized I could understand a good portion of the Japanese without needing the subtitles. You should watch that movie. Most of the beginner lessons cover all the words you will need to know for this movie, even お化け屋敷(haunted house).

I'm really late in the game here coz I'm trying to catch up ALL the previous lessons, just started with newbies, then i wanted to do survival, and then going back to newbies. This is AWESOME guys!!! Amazing!!!

I was watching a J dorama (ichi ritoru no namida), i normally cannot understand anything, maybe can catch a few frequently used phrases here and there, but I've been able to catch alot more!! (they do speak slower at places because the main character has a neuro-degenerative disease that affects her speech)

I'm super excited!! Thank you jpod crew!

今日はERICさん。羅子傑です。
そんな事よく分かる。普通、毎日jPodを二三回聞く。
I listen to old lessons too, so much that I can recite large passages of dialogue by rote! I can even quote impromptu banter between hosts sometimes!

初めまして、ERICさんです。

I listen to JPod101 all day at work. Seriously, all 8 hours of it. I used to complain that I didn't learn anything at work, but JPod101 has certainly changed that for me! Everyday I put just a few lessons on my iPod and repeat them throughout the day till I have it memorized. This is the first time I have seriously tried to learn a language and it is working:grin: I'll stop by and say hello when I finally make it to Tokyo!

MORE survival phrases?! I just got back from Osaka and Kyoto last week, and I brought the entire series of 50 with me! And now I find out that I was potentially still in danger of not surviving?

Thanks for providing these, this was my second trip to Japan and I was far less timid about trying to speak the language this time around. My wife told me she was quite impressed with my ability and actually decided to start learning Japanese herself! I can't think of a better compliment for your product than that.

It's useful .

Japanese will always show respect and politeness and be impressed by any words spoken in their language. It's great credit to them compared to our English speaking selves when we here English spoken by a foreigner to us!!as usually we do not have a set phrase/expression prepared .

Also noting Japanese love to give compliments and this is a great and early chance for them to do so.And this is our first chance to deflect it by saying mada mada dame desu, muzukashii desu etc if you said arigatou gozaimasu it would perhaps come across as a bit too confident!! remeber we have only said a few words!!

Good Peter explaining the real feeling of
Totemo Nihongo ga jozu desu ne

Good lesson, I thought for a second there that you'd taught Johnny Depp Japanese and were using him as a promotional tool. Nice to hear the lovely Ms Suzuki doing a lesson again as well (oh wait, it's Mrs isn't it?:lol:).

I preferred the format of this lesson to some of the old ones as well; I found some of those hard to absorb when I was a newbie. Keep up the good work
