ビッキ-san
とうきょうびょういん-Tokyo hospital is a name of a hospital and it's a proper noun.
Whereas とうきょうのびょういん means "hospital(s) in Tokyo".

Hey jpod! First time commenter! Just subscribed a few months ago, so I may be really late, but had a quick question. Hopefully you guys check old podcasts!

Would Toyko hospital be とうきょうのびょういん? Do you not need the "no" particle for this name?

ありがとうございます！

I was interested to find out what the name "Satoshi" meant: clear thinking, a quick learner.

However, the kanji that I found for the name varied from that used in the lesson. Does this mean that the name means something different, or is this just a different "spelling" of the same word?

Thanks!

You'll never get all the lessons on one machine, so size is just relevant to how many lessons you want to carry in your pocket.

You might as well get the 2G version. That way you can fit in about 200 episodes, if my maths is correct. You'll also be able to do all the other nifty things an iPod can do, only with a smaller hard drive.

If I am going to get a ipod nano as recommended by the kind soul, Maxiewawa san, what size (how many GB)do you think I'll need in order to download all the great programmes from Japanesepod101.com. ?

By the way, does ipod nano able to download the kanji, line-by-line audio etc all stated in the premium package?

Thank you and Oyasuminasai.

Try an iPod nano. Any size will do I guess. The great thing about iPods is that you can set up iTunes (the program used to run your iPod) to download japanesepod automatically.

Good luck!

Thanks Maxiewawa san

The problem is I am in Japan since April this year, will be here for another 3 to 4 months time. I have the cheapest top-up Vodaphone which simply can call & receive call only. No MP3s or even dictionary features.

I have Computer Gezettes phobias! Anything to do with technology, its like experiencing an EARTH QUAKE.

What should I do now? Any recommendation besides using phone in Japan!

Help me pleaseeee, Maxiewawa san, Marky & the rest of the Computer experts!

Even if I want to buy ipods or MPs3, I do not know what to look out for, what kind of features should I ask for?especially to download all the programs from Japanesepod101.com .

Whoa! ちょっと待って! You don't have to buy an iPod at all, you just need something to play the mp3s on.

You might find that your cellphone can play mp3s. That's what I started out doing.

What kind of cellphone have you got? If you got it afte 2006 I'd say you'd be able to play mp3s on it.

I hope you get this message before you buy something you might not need!

Hi Marky san and all those ipod experts,

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I have zero knowledge of these MP3s, 4s & ipod products. Because of wanting to learn more of the Japanese language from the funny Peters & the gang and bring them with me on the move. I have to buy an ipod. (It is my First Time)!

What are the things I must look out for to buy an ipod. I am sooo confuse as to which type I should choose.

Memory type : Hard drive or Flash memory?
Supports : PHOTO only, or PHOTO & VIDEO, or VIDEO only?
Storage: 1 GB , 2 GB, 4GB, 8GB, 30GB, 60GB (in order to download the whole JapanesePod101.com with me how many GB should I choose as minimum)?

For examples below:-

a) Apple iPod Nano 8GB MP3 Player

and

b) Apple iPod 30GB Multi Player

Both named Apple iPod, so which one should I choose?

Soooo Kowaii!

Please help?

Thanks
