Can someone put the translation of what is said in the intro please, I haven’t understood anything!
Tuesday at 2:09 am
Has Ushijima done an introduction anywhere? I’ve been listening to the LI Postcards series and was pretty impressed. Her voice suddenly started turning up, whereas Yoshikai, Sachiko, etc, did a little introduction.
It took me a second to realise Natsuko wasn’t being politcally incorrect with her use of ‘queer’
Oh, and hopefully Peter’s still keen on doing some video content while Ushijima is playing the roll of a nurse
Tuesday at 2:15 am
we’re gonna do a Culture Class about the intros…… enjoy them for now!
our voice actors are so talented!!!! でしょう?!

Dear staff of Japanesepod101.com
I have found your website lessons so interesting
and enlightening
that on the 2nd day of the Trial, I signed up for the Premium package in May, last month.
Have been enjoying listening everyday to the humorous Peter and his gang without fail.
And now thinking to bring the gang with me everywhere I go. Which means I must buy a MP3 or ipod to download to, could you recommend any brand or model for me as I am a computer nuts
My computer is English version and now I will be in Japan for another six months. Will the Japanese MP3 or ipods able to link with my notebook?
Also today, I take sometimes to go through the Line by Line Audio Transcription at the Survival Phrases. Realized that there are some chapters do not have the Line by Line Audio Transcription.
Out of the 50 lessons on the Survival Phrases I have listened to, there are FIVE LESSONS #8, #9, #11, #12, #13 which cannot be heard even I pressed on the arrow sign besides the sentences. (No voice coming out) Why is it so?
The rest of the 50 lessons has no problem in hearing.
Hope to receive your early reply.
Ya, before it slip my mind, what happen to the Video #9….is it on the way or are you guys already stopping it. It is really fantastic drama but slighty short though…
Thank you, guys and keep up your great work!

Usagiさん、
welcome aboard!! i hope you have as much fun as we do!!
as for MP3 players, any model will be fine for you. my recomendation (for ease of use), is an iPod — simply because it’s the most popular and really EASY to use. since it’s sold in every country, you can use it everywhere.
as for those old Survival Phrases lessons, i’ll take a look at them. thanks for pointing that out, i’ll try to fix them today.
by the way, if you enjoyed the survival phrases series, we’re bringing it back today for 25 more lessons! but this time it will be more challenging and with a fun twist.
as for the Videos, it’s on temporary hold. but we have plans for the future.
宜しくお願いします

Domo arigato gozaimashita, Marky san
Well, I wil try to get one soon over this weekend. By the way, is there a page to show me step-by-step on how to download from website internet to ipod?
Thanks again!
For those up there (still on 7days trial), still ponding whether to sign on JAPANESEPOD101.COM, my advise is GO AHEAD & SIGNUP THE PREMIUM PACKAGE, NO REGRET…..
Assured by USAGI!
Monday at 3:41 pm
actually, if you have a premium membership it’s really easy with iTunes.
download the iTunes software and install it: http://ww.itunes.com
after that just go this page: http://www.japanesepod101.com/premium-podcast-feed/
click subscribe, enter your username and password and that’s it.
audio lessons and PDF’s will automatically download to your iPod. The best part is, every time a new lesson is published, it will automatically download. so after that, you don’t have to do anything yourself!
enjoy!

I will definitely follow up your advise once I got my ipod this weekend.
Have a great week ahead!

Hi Marky san and all those ipod experts,
Well, as I mentioned earlier, I have zero knowledge of these MP3s, 4s & ipod products. Because of wanting to learn more of the Japanese language from the funny Peters & the gang and bring them with me on the move. I have to buy an ipod. (It is my First Time)!
What are the things I must look out for to buy an ipod. I am sooo confuse as to which type I should choose.
Memory type : Hard drive or Flash memory?
Supports : PHOTO only, or PHOTO & VIDEO, or VIDEO only?
Storage: 1 GB , 2 GB, 4GB, 8GB, 30GB, 60GB (in order to download the whole JapanesePod101.com with me how many GB should I choose as minimum)?
For examples below:-
a) Apple iPod Nano 8GB MP3 Player
and
b) Apple iPod 30GB Multi Player
Both named Apple iPod, so which one should I choose?
Soooo Kowaii!
Please help?
Thanks
Monday at 5:52 pm
Whoa! ちょっと待って! You don’t have to buy an iPod at all, you just need something to play the mp3s on.
You might find that your cellphone can play mp3s. That’s what I started out doing.
What kind of cellphone have you got? If you got it afte 2006 I’d say you’d be able to play mp3s on it.
I hope you get this message before you buy something you might not need!
Monday at 8:06 pm
Thanks Maxiewawa san
The problem is I am in Japan since April this year, will be here for another 3 to 4 months time. I have the cheapest top-up Vodaphone which simply can call & receive call only. No MP3s or even dictionary features.
I have Computer Gezettes phobias!
Anything to do with technology, its like experiencing an EARTH QUAKE.
What should I do now? Any recommendation besides using phone in Japan!
Help me pleaseeee, Maxiewawa san, Marky & the rest of the Computer experts!
Even if I want to buy ipods or MPs3, I do not know what to look out for, what kind of features should I ask for?especially to download all the programs from Japanesepod101.com .
Monday at 9:30 pm
Try an iPod nano. Any size will do I guess. The great thing about iPods is that you can set up iTunes (the program used to run your iPod) to download japanesepod automatically.
Good luck!
Monday at 11:00 pm
Thanks alot, kind soul Maxiewawa san,
Oyasuminasai & sweet dreams!
Monday at 11:08 pm
Konbanwa Marky san,
Sorry to post the question to you at this late hour, but not to worry, please take time to answer it anytime tomorrow.
If I am going to get a ipod nano as recommended by the kind soul, Maxiewawa san, what size (how many GB)do you think I’ll need in order to download all the great programmes from Japanesepod101.com. ?
By the way, does ipod nano able to download the kanji, line-by-line audio etc all stated in the premium package?
Thank you and Oyasuminasai.
Tuesday at 8:57 am
You’ll never get all the lessons on one machine, so size is just relevant to how many lessons you want to carry in your pocket.
You might as well get the 2G version. That way you can fit in about 200 episodes, if my maths is correct. You’ll also be able to do all the other nifty things an iPod can do, only with a smaller hard drive.
Kind soul!
どうも、うさぎさん!
Tuesday at 2:10 pm
Konnichiwa Kind soul, Maxiewawa san
Domo arigato gozaimashita!
Point noted! So I’ll go for ipod instead of MP3 ne!
Monday at 10:41 pm
I don’t understand much of the intro. Isn’t there someone who can translate that, please?
Tuesday at 3:41 pm
I was interested to find out what the name “Satoshi” meant: clear thinking, a quick learner.
However, the kanji that I found for the name varied from that used in the lesson. Does this mean that the name means something different, or is this just a different “spelling” of the same word?
Thanks!
Alison

Hey jpod! First time commenter! Just subscribed a few months ago, so I may be really late, but had a quick question. Hopefully you guys check old podcasts!
Would Toyko hospital be とうきょうのびょういん? Do you not need the “no” particle for this name?
ありがとうございます!
Thursday at 10:24 am
ビッキ-san
とうきょうびょういん-Tokyo hospital is a name of a hospital and it’s a proper noun.
Whereas とうきょうのびょういん means “hospital(s) in Tokyo”.
