DK-san,
The relationship between “ni tai shite” and “ni tai suru” is the same as, for example, “using” and “to use.”
When it is used as a phrase, we use “ni tai shite.”
When it is followed by a noun, the form should be plain form so we use “ni tai suru.”
Even the form is different, the meaning is the same.
But please note that “ni tai suru” means “toward (target)” and also “in contrast to…”

Just to clarify, “ni tai shite” and “ni tai suru” mean the same thing. Here’s the pattern of use:

NOUN に対して (”towards NOUN”)

NOUN1 に対する/に対しての NOUN2 (”NOUN2 in regard to NOUN1″)

Example sentences:

彼はお年寄りに対してやさしい。
Kare wa o-toshiyori ni taishite yasashii.
He is kind to elderly people.

先生の話に対する反応はなかった。
Sensei no hanashi ni tai suru hannou wa nakatta.
There was no reaction to the teacher’s words.

I wanted to HEAR the difference between “ni tai shite” and “ni tai suru” EXPLAINED. Can we add a bonus track explaining the grammar point for the day? Guess I’ll go read on it some more.

If there are words that aren’t in the vocabulary list, I would recommend looking them up in our Word Dictionary, and then adding them to your Word Bank that way

The phrase you heard is indeed 木々の緑, which is in the first line of the dialogue transcript.
木々（きぎ） = trees
緑 (みどり) = green, greenery

There are lots of good vocabulary words that are not in the vocabulary list for each
lesson that I would love to add to my word bank. Is there a way to do that?

I checked ni tai shite and ni tai suru at tangorin.com (nice dictionary like website) and it seems that the “shite” shows disagreement while “suru” indicates agreement. Can someone confirm me this?
