Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com! Over the past two days, we told you the story of Hikoichi and the tengu. Today we bring you another mukashi banashi, but this one is in a format we haven’t used before. Tune in to hear Chigusa tell the tale of Nezumi no Yomeiri, The Mouse’s Marriage, in English! Give your brain a break and just sit back and enjoy some Japanese culture. After listening, stop by JapanesePod101.com for a link to the Japanese if you can’t resist!

An intereting story….certainly no wierder than some of the fairy/folk tales I grew up with (darn those brothers Grimm)

So do the Japanese refer to things like..the sun and..walls…as ‘mr. sun/wall’ which I suppose would turn out to be ’sun/wall-san’ ?

(Off-topic but I just found out this year’s year 10s will be allowed to take Japanese at my school, so I shall tell the ones I know about this place to share the knowledge)
