I love the 青春十八切符 (seishun juhachi kippu)… it’s actually 11000 yen. but it’s a painful way to travel. it’s for those of you who have more time than money. i highly recommend it though.
I’m really hoping that you do a 忘年会 episode.– One of the stranger experiences I’ve had here in Japan. Also, have you mentioned anything about the bonuses that everyone receives?
And re: round the world travel… i bought a us-new zealand- australia- singapore- thailand- london-greece-prague-us ticket for about US$1600 from STA travel… it was a under 26 years old price though.

I left on September 1st and was set to come back in mid-summer. RTW tickets often don’t have high-low seasons. Also, Canada seems to have better pricing plans, since more Canadians than Americans will make that sort of trip. Europeans get the best-priced tickets though, since there’s even higher demand there.

I don’t think anyone knows what’s in it. They are scheduled to be delivered to those who were fortunate enough to order one on January 2nd. Then, we’ll have to wait for the blogs to start reporting.
I suppose at the value they state, they must at least include some sort of iPod, or even a Mac mini.

Annie-san, it’s the only way to travel! We when went to Aomori, we were on a two-car train! Yep, just two cars!

i don’t think i would ever go to a clothing store for fukubukuro..japanese women are sooo thin and petite. even my japanese friend who is 5′10″ but a size 2! has trouble finding clothing and shoes that fit her. >.

I love the local train travel too. I’d thought about buying one of the tickets for the winter break, but opted for a snowboarding holiday instead.
Traveling for 4 months in NewZealand and Australia and a year in S.E. Asia was an amazing experience and something that far too few Americans do. Including airfare it cost me about $7500 to travel for those 16 months (expensive yes, but far more rewarding than paying off my student loans). I spent most of my time hiking, taking cooking classes, reading books, and learning new languages. I love to go places that are off the beaten tourist track and make friends with the ladies at the food stalls in the market.
What sort of details are you looking for?

2005年の夏休みに青春18切符で本州の旅をした。ものすごく楽しかったが、annieさんが言ったようにもちろん時間がかかて、電車の乗り換えはときどき面倒くさいです。
だたらこそ、初めて日本に来ると「新幹線」に乗ったらいいかもしれないけど、日本の電車になれたら「青春18切符」のほうは安くて、楽しいと思う。旅途中でどこでも気に入るところで電車を降りて、観光できるから。夏の水田（すいでん）とか冬の雪山（ゆきやま）などをゆっくり見て楽しむことができる。これ、やっぱり懐かしいですね～
