Mina-san, we hope you’re having a great weekend wherever you are!
Saturday at 10:59 pm
One vote for Ask Yoshi! I have a lot of questions for you!
Saturday at 11:03 pm
Make that two! Yet another great idea from the JapanesePod101.com crew!
I received my JLPT application the other day and I was wondering, any chance of doing a lesson that covers the format of the actual test - say what to do on the test day itself?
よろしくおねがいします!
Saturday at 11:06 pm
Matthew-san, an excellent idea! What level are you taking?
こちらこそよろしくお願いします。
Saturday at 11:08 pm
なつこさん?! 昨日のlessonは、なつこさんが「また来週」と言った。
なんぜなつこさんが今日のlessonでいるか?

Didja REALLY think you’d need to ask us whether we’d like Ask Yoshi? Haha, yes, great idea.
Sunday at 1:34 am
Gah, you mentioned me! Should’ve listened to the whole thing before commenting…
頑張っています! でも、皆さんは待たなくてはいけません。僕は宿題が大嫌いです!
Sunday at 1:44 am
Justin-san,
Can’t wait to see your Flash thing!
JPOD Team:
This news issue today was amazing!! My head is still reeling from all the new stuff you mentioned!!! The hard work you have put into this podcast is mind-boggling!!
I’m looking forward to all the new features and exploring the older things, such as line-by-line audio for ALL the earlier lessons!

**Matthew Mudge says: …any chance of doing a lesson that covers the format of the actual test - say what to do on the test day itself? **
Yes yes please
(I’m trying level 4
)
BTW the grammar section in the learning center starts to be really really nice. I’m studying only with japanesePod and started a couple of months ago, wouldn’t it be superfunny if I passed the test??
Ask Yoshi? Yes yes please
Sunday at 2:44 am
Liz-san is right I really agree and its a wonderful idea to have podcast segment Ask Yoshi! I have so much to ask him
I hope he answers personal questions ehhh
I’m really looking forward to all this changes JP101 would make it would make my life easier to carry Japanese Language Learning Center in our ipod!

Carlo From italy your so right and like your comments
Sunday at 2:55 am
Carlo From Italy I hope you don’t mind for copying you
but I forgot to say that you should also have podacast segment that say Ask JP101 Staff, Ask JP101 Listeners or Ask Nathan that would be great too!

Howdy! I’m always 2 months behind so I feel very out of the loop, but had to listen to the news today since I use my Ipod…
Sounds GREAT as usual for Japanesepod101.com.
Of course we all want “ask Yoshi” (who’s pretty sharp looking….I saw one of the I-Love videos). In our house we have what we now call a “yoshi-ism”. … that’s when you ask someone a question…then there is a long thoughtful pause before they answer….then they give you a one word reply (like “no” or “interesting”). See Yoshi-san, you are being immortalized in the west!
All the best to everyone….keep at it!

すごいニュースでした。japanesepod101のチームは忙しかったです。
とても忙しいと思います。
ビデオは八時間しましたか。ipodのなかのラニングセンタ。よしに質問しました。
Don’t forget this important vocab when asking Yoshi questions
horeru = to fall in love
koi ni ochiru = to fall in love (literally)
koi kogareru = to go crazy with love (Lit: burning love)
ai suru = to love
ai wa oshimi naku ataeru = to love without restraint
Sunday at 3:54 am
よしに質問しました should be present tense よしに質問します
I’m pretty sure some of my katakana’s wrong too, but I’m feeling too lazy to work on it
Sunday at 5:28 am
Whoops that was a mispost..a mispost and a half.
What i put was, can you ask Yoshi:
‘Do you like having the same name as a small green dinosaur?’
Please =]
Sunday at 5:57 am
Can’t wait to see the next installment of the iLove drama! And an Ask Yoshi would be great!! I agree, he’s brave to let us ask him anything. haha We’ll be nice, Yoshi!
Sunday at 6:21 am
I’m looking forward to the next installment of iLove too. I’m sure finding tactful comments to make about our videos has brought creative writing to new heights. 開いた口がふさがらないと言いませんか。
Sunday at 6:57 am
Haha! Behold our script scrapping power!
Ask Yoshi? Very, very nice.
Sunday at 8:58 am
JP101 Staff の皆様! You guys rock!
Hmm…Peterさん、 you and I need to have a talk about this tech innovation. You’ve been holding out on me.
Me three for “Ask Yoshi”!!!
And, the iLove series sounds awesome!!! I’m especially looking forward to Sakuraさん’s contribution.
bakanekoさん、
Actually, I think I mislead you. I was thinking that なっちゃん meant that she would be back next week. However, upon further reflection, I think she was saying また来週 for the Intermediate Lesson. かな?
Sunday at 9:46 am
Peterさん、
I will be very interested in the learning center material on the iPOD. Of course, I will need to borrow my daughter’s 30GB iPOD Video to check it out. But I guess if it is good enough, it would add one more reason for me to buy one of my own.
Thanks
John C. Briggs
Sunday at 10:03 am
Johnさん、
Definitely get a Video iPod!!! I love mine. There are some cool video podcasts out there. Not to mention the upcoming episodes of the iLove series!
But, wait until after Tuesday. Apple has an announcement scheduled that day. And, word is, they will have a new video device or service.
Sunday at 10:22 am
Hmmm….maybe jpod could work out some sponsorship deal with Apple.
I have no ipod so no iLearning Center for me T_T
Sunday at 12:01 pm
Will I be able to use the Learning Center on an ipod nano? I started using the podcasts about 2 weeks ago, so am working my way through the archives. I have applied to take the level 3 JLPT in December. I am curious as to how the podcasts correlate with the JLPT. Is level 3 similar to the intermediate podcasts, or is higer or lower?
Sunday at 12:33 pm
I have an old iPod, 20 GB.
Would it work on mine?
Anyway, like Jason, I can still use the Learning Center!!
Sunday at 12:43 pm
Andrew-san / Liz-san,
The upcoming iLearning Center utilizes the iPod Notes feature which is available on iPod models with a dock connector including:
- iPod mini
- iPod with color display (iPod photo)
- iPod (Click Wheel)
- iPod (with Dock Connector)
- iPod nano
- iPod with video
Stay tuned for much more additional information and detailed instructions about this latest innovation from JapanesePod101.com!
- Eran
Sunday at 3:46 pm
@Daniel Beck-san,
You can use quite a bit of HTML/XML type markup in iPod Notes. I expect that’s what’s being used for the new iPod iLearning Centre. I haven’t tried it myself, but there’s information out there including this.

Sunday at 5:25 pm
Alanさん、
You rock!
Thanks for the heads up!
Sunday at 5:30 pm
Liz, me too, I have an old 20GB iPod… sounds as if we’re left out
because the ones on Eran’s list are all later models. At least for anything video, mine’s no good, and with only 20GB there’s not soo much space.
On the other hand, my birthday’s coming up
and that’s a really nice coincidence…
Hm … next occasion then would be on Halloween: trick or iPod
instead of trick or treat…
Sunday at 11:12 pm
Lizさん and Desireeさん、
Based on Eranさん’s list, the only unsupported 20GB iPod would be that of the touch-wheel 2G variety. 20GB Dock connector (3G) or click-wheel (4G) versions should be compatible.
I’ll toss in a vote for Ask Yoshi too. Good work JP101 team, keep the innovation going!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Sunday at 11:34 pm
すばらしいニュースポッドキャストでした!
Ask Yoshi!のポッドキャストが楽しい! (Hmmm.. “Will be” is built into the adjective right?)
Alan-さん、
すごい! Ipod Developer notesが見ました! ありがとう!
Monday at 2:15 am
Just amazing guys!
JPOD101.com rocks!
One vote more for “ask Yoshi”

Hi Mina-san,
…….Very good……..
like that? Docmac from Texas-san!
I’m glad that many of you liked the idea of “Ask Yoshi!” “The ultimate Yoshi-ism of the 21st century” I’ve only lived 26 years so far, but (does age matter? It’s all about experience, right Liz-san! Thanks for your mail by the way!
) I have lived the extreme, I mean I have been living the Spanish life style, (very passionate way of life) living for today! Everyday!
And since I grew up as the baby in my middle working class Japanese family where I have 3 other siblings, went to a private boys Catholic high school even though I grew up in a Buddhist family, spent 7 years in the U.S. to party like an animal, sold Israeli soap in the middle of New York for half a year, have been working for Jpod for a while in Tokyo, and last but not least, having the same name as the little green dinosaur, I think I can give you good answers, at least interesting answers.
Well, I’ll do my best! And I hope my answers would be helpful and save the rainforests in Amazon.
best,
Yoshi

I love the idea that the grammar bank will have link to the lessons where the expression were introduced.
There is so much in there now that I was a bit taken aback about how much I do not remember - or maybe not all expressions were featured in the podcasts?:???:
Another questions: Does the new downloadable learning centre feature to ipod be matched by a similar downloadable feature in non-ipod terms? I’d love to be able to use learning centre facilities whilst offline! but I do not have an ipod with video ..
Hmmm, time I get catapulted into the 21st century maybe
..Seems a good present to ask for Xmas - but for archiving purposes I’d still like to know in what format this downloadable stuff will come… Will be watching.
