Mina-san, we hope you’re having a great weekend!
Thank you again for all the comments on yesterday’s videocast! It made all the long hours worth it! Arigatou gozaimasu!
Your comments were so amazing that Yoshi felt obliged to post on vacation
! Check out post #73 from yesterday’s entry.
Congratulations to Eran, a.k.a. - Tech Guy, as he was married yesterday in Aruba!

おめでとう Eranさん!
Now that the competition is officially open to Yoshiさん entries, I have a question. Should we address the video to Junjiさん or Yoshiさん? =)
Sunday at 1:31 am
Natsukoさん, I’d want autographed pics from all the team. And I’d send you a video dating message too if I leaned that way ^^
Sunday at 1:42 am
I’m still working my way through your earlier podcasts, so today I’ve enjoyed cherry blossom viewing and listened to Yoshi try to buy medicine for 胸焼け(muneyake) only to be told it was sold out! Do you remember that?
Anyway, I thought I would jump from April to August to make a comment and say a big thank you for all those long hours you just mentioned. Thanks to all of you, including Eran (congratulations!), every day I’m learning something new while being kept entertained. It’s a double edged sword though; I seem to spend all my spare time listening to your podcasts instead of talking to my wife, but when I do talk to her (always in Japanese) I get to try out some new phrase. So as long as the content you keep putting out day after day is good enough to keep her amused when I use it, my marriage won’t end in divorce.
Keep up the great work, you can count on my daily vote.

I have worked all night on my video, because it was so much fun!
I was thinking of uploading it but do you want it in a sertain format or will anything do?
Sunday at 4:16 am
JockZon-san!
I would love to see your video. Maybe you could post it on your web site! Huh, please, please?
You rock
Mac Users: try my tip: I opened Garage Band and recorded part of Utada Hikaru, then exported to iTunes and now it’s on my iPod. Maybe I can learn it
I recorded the song from Sean-san’s link:
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/128149/video/
HAVE FUN!!!
Sunday at 4:17 am
Oh, I just had another brain flash!
Here’s what you do: Play the song from Garage Band or the website listed above, streaming out of your speakers and Lip Sync. I know I’m bad.
Sunday at 4:31 am
My favorite part is when Nanase-san says to Junji-san, ‘Sorry you lost your chance.” She is so rude and haughty!! Then she says, “Hurry up and get ready.” And she is the guest on the podcast!
Sunday at 4:39 am
Is Chigusa that dominant in real life? Boys, abunai
Sunday at 6:19 am
It sucs not to have a video camera…
Sunday at 6:34 am
Dimitri-san,

You make me sad.
Could you borrow one?
Are you Russian or Bulgarian or Ukranian?
Sunday at 6:40 am
Hello Liz!
How are you?
Sunday at 7:12 am
JockZon-san,
Anata?
Fine, but very busy!
People who read music: Do you want the score to the song to Utada Hikaru? Go here:

You can print out page 2 and 3! If you don’t read music, get a friend to help you.
Sunday at 10:53 am
Shouldn’t the prize be a date with the lovely Chigusaさん?
I hope my wife doesn’t read this.
Sunday at 12:39 pm
Exactly! Daniel-san.
In fact, I thought the prize was her hand in marriage.
Does chigusa-san swing *that* way?
Sunday at 12:53 pm
Put Takahashi-san on ILove. He should try and pick up Chigusa-san on the way!!!
Sunday at 5:52 pm
Hehe yeah I think you could choose a date
No but really, I think you should make a japan kit for the winner and bring japan to him/her for them who want to experience japan but cannot go there yet. I could contain several varity of things. You make like a mistery box or something
Signed photo of chigusa, a book to practise reading, and so on, so on.
Well, anyway I would sertainly do this without a prize anyway so even if I not win I wouldn’t really be sad. This is so much fun!
Sunday at 5:53 pm
Huh, I posted but nothing happened! Testo testo

Liz, thanks for the link to the score. That’s going to be useful. I’ve been playing around with iMovie (never used it before) & think I’ve got the basics now. I’ve realised that my digital camera can produce short avi files (but not mp4), so I’m going to try that and see if I can get them into iMovie. The sound will have to be dubbed on afterwards, so I’ll need to get a microphone.
Still not sure that I can do this, but maybe…

Bakanekoさん、
You’re scaring me!
Oh, I showed the video to my wife. And she said that it was hypocritical of Nanaseさん to criticize Junjiさん for judging her by her looks when hoping to get video messages from all of us.
Sunday at 10:13 pm
Technology sorted
iPhoto downloads the AVI file off my digital camera and it drags Ok into iMovie. It actually has sound, but is way too noisy for actual use. Connecting a microphone to my powerbook was a bit tricky as I found it needed Line Input levels. One mic-preamp later, it’s all working fine with practically no noise. On to the difficult bit, actually making the video

Alan-san,
It’s interesting to follow your progress.
iMovie is easy and soooooooo much fun!
Save movies to your Movies folder in Home.
Ganbatte kudasai!

Liz-san,
Scripts now done. I hope the grammar’s correct, but publishing them for comment would spoil the surprise. A first go at recording the script & the song came in at 55 seconds. I’ve used GarageBand to create a midi of the vocal part (shifted down two octaves, as I’m a bass) and am using it to practice using headphones & GarageBands monitor function. I’ll probably just practice now & lay down a proper recording next weekend. Considering that I don’t know what I’m doing, this so going better than expected
皆さん、頑張って下さい。
Monday at 4:35 am
I’m learning so much from the JPOD broadcasts and community.
Not only the language and culture, but making new friends and learning new technology.
Some Forum members helped me learn how to download BitTorrent jdoramas. Vicky-san helped me get on Skype!! Thanks, Vicky! I talked to my cousins in England and Romania, then to JockZon in Sweden.
Now a lot of us are trying to send you movies because we want a date with Yoshi!
Well, since I’m married I will take another prize.
Monday at 4:57 am
Hi Liz I’m back
I’m not going to participate because I don’t have a webcam and because I don’t want to date Yoshi-san! I going to leave it to my friend Katie who wants to marry a Japanese guy! Hurry up Katie because there is already too many girls participating they are going to win if you don’t hurry!

Monday at 6:36 am
Yo, Sindy-san!
Well, it’s nice of you to let others have a chance with him.
You don’t want to date Yoshi-san?
Monday at 7:49 am
You know why?
because I know he is not going to choose me anyway so its useless! Only one lucky girl will win Yoshi-san attention and trust me I know its not me! S_R_C

Yoshi Yoshi Yoshi…blah blah blah…
Monday at 11:06 am
Ironically, the one who mentions Yoshis name the most, is you Daniel-san
Monday at 12:02 pm
Jonasさん、not you too!
Yoshi Yoshi Yoshi…blah blah blah…
Monday at 6:22 pm
Maybe Yoshiさん would like more than one girl
Monday at 8:56 pm
Testo again, I want to comment but I can’t
Tuesday at 2:18 pm
ummm im planning to have my “first love” song as a video as well, since i play guitar, i would probably be performing it with an accompanying guitar. is that okay?
Tuesday at 9:49 pm
Juan-san,
Feel free to make a video both with and without guitar, but as of now, we are most likely only going to be able to use a capella entries because of intellectual rights issues. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for understanding!
Thursday at 4:59 pm
A capella?? If you had only told me before!
I tried emailing, I tried the two links on the entry page, but nothing worked. So YOUtube ことした。

I didn’t really follow the rules, or answer all the questions, sing the song, or even sing at all, but hey… who cares! 紹介の前に恥かしかったけど、したからいい気持ちがきた。
(Before I did my introduction I was nervous but after it was a good feeling)
I expect to see everyone else’s awkward introductions soon.
Also, it’s in two parts.
ゆろしくお願い。お願い!

Friday at 3:53 am
LOL Max-san. Perhaps a camera angle that doesn’t look up your nose is better.
(now he’ll kick my butt when i send one in)
Friday at 6:21 am
The 2nd part, taken sneakily in the piano showroom was great. It reminds me of getting kicked off the electric organ stand at the Ideal Home exhibition when I was a kiddy (yes I could play, but wasn’t likely to be buying anything for a few years & the salesman got a bit impatient).
My video’s done, but isn’t a cappella either. Unfortunately I can’t post it for copyright reasons (Bother). I might be write my own song (well a chorus anyway) and record that. Ok, not to the letter of the competition, but I’d then feel ok about posting it for everyone else’s amusement.
