Hey everyone, I’m new to this site but I’ve been wanting to learn japanese for years and I do plan to go to university to study it next year (gotta do a years education to prove I can handle the study) but I figure why not start now and get ahead of the game so to speak ^-^
Anyway I have a tiny question, I want to get all the lessons in my iTunes so I subscribed to the podcast but it still only shows 101 entries and I tried the other way on the site but still no luck T-T
So I’d appreciate it if someone could give me a solution to this problem (at the moment I’m downloading them from the site one by one and putting them on my iPod but thats obviously not perfect)
Anyways I plan on getting a premium subscription as soon as I got some cash so keep up the good work everyone and sorry for the long comment ^-^’

Welcome! I’m not sure why the podcast subscription isn’t working. Are you saying that you subscribed to the podcast, but you’re not able to download them all at once?
Have you tried using the torrent files in the download center? That might be another option to get them into iTunes.

Yeah I noticed the torrents earlier and I’ve started downloading them but I notice theres not many people on them so they can take a while but I’ve got most of the beginner lessons either downloaded or downloading (although not the informal ones) but what I meant was I clicked the subscribe link in iTunes and it still only showed 101 entries even after it downloaded and updated and stuff

Robさん, I don’t think there’s really a point where you jump from Beginner to Intermediate. It’s a very gradual climb. When you find yourself understanding a lot of stuff in the intermediate podcasts, you’re there.

I have a question on なれる（慣れる 【なれる】 to grow accustomed to） This verb already has a connotation of ‘becoming’ as in ‘becoming used to something’. Normally, the concept of ‘becoming’ is expressed using the verb なる （成る 【なる】to become) as used in the same lesson earlier on in 遅くなった.
Can you clarify how to use this verb correctly taking care of all nuances of meaning? I am so used to 成る that I am finding this difficult. Perhaps a session in the grammar bank would be welcome. その間、ポドアストの例文を聞きなおす。
例：
I got used to it=慣れた (but in the pod cast you use 慣れてるよ which I think is the contraction of 慣れえているよ)
You’d better get used to it=慣れてもういいです
I am getting used to it=慣れている?how does this differ from the exampl ein your feature dialogue?
とにかく, this lesson was tough at first but studying the PDF really helped. Still thinking about a possible ending….

ミクジさん、私はまだこのpodcastを聞かないから、その後で返事します。「慣れてる」というのは、ただ「慣れている」の「い」を無くした同じです。言語では、「〜ている」の「い」はよく無くされます。「still getting used to but haven’t yet」というヌアンスです。
seanさん、I’m sorry that we missed your questions. What did you ask? BTW, grammar questions are probably better asked in the forum instead of here.

thank you for your answer - I think you are right that detailed grammar is better reserved for the forum but I’ll leave a brief comment on the lesson specific page too (with pointer to the forum) in the future in case people have the same question and wish to follow it up there.

I get most of my question answered so far - whilst it is sometimes annoying to have to scroll down thorugh pages of irrelevant yet friendly comments I still treasure these spontaneous partecipation - it makes it a community of real poeple. I think I am often too serious about studying (in general) so I appreciate being reminded that there is also playful banter to be enjoyed in life.
Minna-san,though - don’t forget this is a Japanese learning environment. At least try to make some of your playful comment in Japanese!
