Peter-san,
It helps us Beginners to learn the correct way. Thanks! It’s very hard for us casual Americans to learn that.
You are so funny (”….we tend to use さん when addressing one another”!
Actually, I want to compliment you on your gigantic effort to do that on the podcasts

About The world cup finals I make a mistake again Germany lost dawn
now the final is Italy VS France and my last comment for this world cup is that it began good but end terrible with teams that weren’t favorites so all I can say is that Italy will win the cup even do France is great team with Zidane and great with their knowledge! But what Italy has show with Germany is definitive of a master so there is no doubt about it! Well its over now and we will wait for 2010 World Cup in South Africa Good luck next time!

You might will get heart attack when you meet him.

Why does this remind me of the Brady Bunch?

なっちゃん、
I don’t think “baked” is the right word for たこ焼き。
Peterちゃん、
It’s good form on a place like this to use shorter urls.
There is a good site at http://tinyurl.com/
So, the link you provided for Lizちゃん above looks like this:

Oh, and octopus balls?
Just because arc defines it that way…
Reminds me of that movie with Chevy Chase, “Funny Farm”. Only, I can’t remember what name they used for sheep balls.
I think you all should take a sushi eating trip and make it into a video podcast!!! I volunteer to shoot the video. I only ask that I be treated to free sushi!

Have you hired a bodyguard yet?

Brady Bunch????
Friday at 6:34 am
Peter-san and Daniel Beck-san,
Is there a picture of octopus balls? Well, it’s ok because the description on the podcast was fantastic and I could picture them very well and the pan they are cooked in. This podcast was particularly good at explaining everything. Thanks.
Thanks very much for the links, etc. However, I wasn’t able to see anything on the site.

I never watched it. That was before my time. But that phrase is pretty famous.

That’s very interesting that Tsukiji is now closed to the public! When was this enforcement put to task? I remember visiting there in the morning — not interfering, as such, but enjoying the crazy vibe of it all, the supreme fish afficinados, and the weird, weird, weird slang those guys use. How about a cultural episode on subcultural slang in Tokyo?
Sean, the invisible one.
Friday at 7:36 am
Sean-san - While I take everything with Wikipedia with a grain of salt, it says they closed the auctions to public in May 2005.

Liz-san:
I couldn’t see anything on those links either. Try these -

Jasonさん、
You’ve never seen it? Don’t they show it on some cable channel? There’s probably a ’70’s TV show channel.
Also, Tom Hanks, when he was on Busom Buddies, would always say “Sunny Sunny Sunny Sunny”.
-Daniel B
Friday at 9:53 am
I’ve seen bits of it on channels like TV Land, but I don’t think I’ve ever watched a whole episode.
Friday at 10:51 am
Ssomers-san, just the fish auctions are closed to the public. I hope that was clear.
We definately don’t want people thinking that Tsukiji is closed!
Daniel-san, I was trying to create so work for Tech-guy.
Friday at 11:10 am

Re: Getting off track
I don’t mind getting off track. And when 先生たち use Japanese in these little diversions, I find them very useful.
In this show, everyone joked that Yoshi-san should take them out to o-sushi. When Natsuko suggested they say “Gochisousama”, it gave us a really good example of a situation when this word is appropriate. And when Peter joked that they should ask the waiter for a plate, and said “ichi mai” it gave us the counter for plates.
You could explain these two Japanese words 10 times and I might not understand. But a short little joke about Yoshi-san and I understand perfectly.
I like these little diversions in the classes, but ask that everyone remember to slip NiHonGo into them (やまに忘れる).
