Hi everyone,
For となり, my way of remembering is of course the movie となりのトトロ, I hear となり and the infectious song at the end of the movie starts in my head. It’s one of the first japanese words I’ve learnt.

I like the Bonus Audio! It forces you to listen, with no visual aids at all! 
It’s a challenge to look at the pdf and listen at the same time. I’ve been opening a new window in my browser to do that. Does anyone have other ideas? I guess you can use the popup audio and click windows around to access that.

I think I’ve got some family in Chicago actually, my fathers’ cousin and her family. Lots of people from my town emigrated to the U.S. after World War II, and some of them are still there. My father was born in New York, but his family moved back to Norway when he was 11, so I’m not American… But I could’ve been

My take on mae/ushiro:
mae is shorter than ushiro.
When taking photos, shorter people usually stand in front, while longer(taller) people stand behind.

I know this is two years old, but…
I think there’s a mistake with the answers for the bonus audio questions: Question 1 is about the Space Hotel and Question 2 is about the post office, right? In the upside-down answers they’re marked questions 2 & 1. Right?

I simply love this site because its fun and lively. I learned so many things about japan. Its humurous, the way Peter use funny punching lines in the show. It always makes me laugh and the same time I’m able to get a lot of stuff about japan. Its interesting and very educational for me. Hope you guys continue this show coz I can’t get enough of it. well i was thinking exakly like kaxxina about tonari but i think i have also one way to remamber mae and ushiro (i kinda tried to think like yoshi)
Mae starts with m and ushiro starts whit us soo think it like mae=me im always front of us=ushiro that means ushiro must be behind i hope this works for someone

Hi,
I’m kind of a newbie to this website, but I thought I’d mention that this was a really helpful lesson. I went to the dollar store and bought a child’s book of mazes to practice. I think it’s a good exercise.
P.S. I just love the Nagasaki Connection! You guys are just too funny.

i really love peter, Yoshi and takasei! weeeeheeeee…. and all the other guests too. Japanesepod101.com is a very fun and lively way to learn Japanese. it’s not strict and is straight to the point. moreover, the different guests contribute a lot of inputs for the lessons for more information and fun.
