I vote #2 ….. # 1 doesn’t sound respectful of Natsuko’s personal likes and dislikes, or perhaps she was trying to let him down gently and he didnt’t get the hint. Anyway it didn’t sound like too much chemistry between the two of them. Hopefully # 2 is a better match.

The dating game follow up podcast was so much fun! I loved how Natsuko hung up on #1!! He tried to be a little nicer the second time, kedo he is too egotistical.

I vote for #2. He asked, “Hima desuka”. I think he is more thoughtful and sensitive to Natsuko’s feelings.

What will happenn next? I LOVE THIS PODCAST!! Thanks so much for doing it!

Ahhhh, let’s go with bachelor #2. #1 is too egocentric… he’s not going to take care Natsuko because he only loves himself. I don’t think Natsuko will be happy with this dude.

I hope #2 will be a lot better cuz I’ve voted for him since the beginning…. Wait, I just got an idea. How about Natsuko still go meet that Shakespeare guy at the Kubuki theatre @ 8pm tonight just to give him another chance (perhaps he’s just bad in asking people out on the phone? ) and then meet #2 tomorrow night? Natsuko seems to be screaming out for number 2… number 1 obviously kinda scares her, not to mention that he’s trying to force her to go out with him, even though she doesn’t want to… I suggest that number 2 has to come and help her out, and then take her on a romantic getaway…

Alternatively, number 2 could try to come and help her, whereas she can actually take care of herself, and ends up bluntly rejecting both of them, and we find out she has a secret lover in her house already…

Or have I been watching too much dorama?

ps3. In order to hear more take-san, Natsuko will go out with #1 to the kabuki, but she will tell #2 about it. #2 will go to the theatre and pretend to be a kabuki actor, and ask natsuko out while they are watching! #1 will think he is a terrible actor, but natsuko will think it is suupaa suwiito!

I want to know: what does ぜっこうちょうmean?:???:　　I keep hearing Peter say that when asked, “Genki desu ka”. 　Maybe I missed that in an earlier episode?

My version of the storyboard is:

Natsuko makes appointments with both: same time, same place carriing a red rose for recongition. She invites Takase to watch this meeting secertly together . After that Natsko and Takase go to have a drink or two und we can hear their comments about the two guys. In the bar they meet a gai-jin who tells a strange story about swimming with shraks and Takase and Natsuko ….

Well about that there schould be a new inquiry.

I agree with the general opinion that #1 is too insensitive for Natsuko-san. Even if he’s good looking, he would be really boring. So she should give bachelor #2 a try. At least he hasn’t said enough to look like a loser yet! By the way, great acting by everyone!

誰 isn’t a 常用漢字 (Jouyou Kanji), meaning that the Japanese don’t learn it in school, so some jouyou-only dictionaries don’t contain it. But it’s quite important, and you need to know it.

What was the context you heard it in? Joudan can also mean “upper tier (row, step, grade, etc.)”, but it is different kanji - 上段. It is also used this way in Aikido terminology to describe stances, weapon positions, etc. Is this what you were thinking of?
