Kon'nichiwa meltjl-san!
We're glad to hear that you like to learn Japanese with us.
Good question!
'Futari' is a common expression of ""two people"" and 'ni-mei' is extra formal expression of that.
I usually use 'futari' in daily conversation.
If you go to the restaurants, you'll hear waiters saying 'ni-mei' instead of 'futari.'
I hope this helps.

Ohayo Gozaimasu! First of all, AWESOME podcast!! Love them (suki desu!!) I have been listening to the podcast for 2 weeks now and I am still going. Whether it is something about the voice or the unintentional jokes, keep it up because I am enjoying it !!

One quick question, in Survival Phrases #9, 2 people --> futari
but in this podcast, 2 people --> ni mei sama

Whilst both meant the same, is there a situation where one is preferred over the other ? Cheers !

Semimasien (I dont think I spelled that right) I have never posted here before and really I have just started these lessons and already I have gone through eleven in one day. I would just like to say (and once again I apologize if it is misspelled) Arigatou kosaimasu! This is helping me very much. My friends and I have been attempting to learn Japanese and when my friend told me about this site yesterday I just couldnt wait to get on. I got on today and I just couldnt get off! So once again Arigatou Kosaimasu for everything! I hope everything works out for you guys! Mata Ne!

Just to let you know that you are not alone for I am another Mac user. One thing I found yesterday which you might like to check out is found at:

http://www.sugoisoft.com/ - check out the Jisho utility. Looks cool.
