It was a little over a week ago and, after going through the seven day free trial, I subscribed. I can't describe how helpful this site has been to me. There are no Japanese classes at the college I attend and learning Japanese has always been a dream of mine. JapanesePod101.com has started me on my journey and I'm so very excited to learn more. I was recently eating with a friend who knows Japanese and he asked me, "Sore wa oishii desu ka?" and when I responded, "Hai, kore wa totemo oishii desu" he almost fell off his chair. I never told him I had started learning Japanese. He likes to speak it around me just to show off, but I definitely got him that time! I thought you guys would like that story and I know I'll have more soon! Thanks again everyone here at JapanesePod101.com! I've never enjoyed a website as much as this one! よろしくおねがいします Jamie-san, I’m wondering if anyone will see this comment so late in the game, but I too recently discovered this site. I discovered this website the day before yesterday, and I am trying my very best to catch up (wish me luck)! I have been self teaching Japanese for years (as there is no Japanese class offered at my highschool), and I plan to major in it in college this coming year. Your podcasts have already been immensely helpful in my endeavors, in fact, they are probably the most helpful learning aid that I have managed to stumble across yet. Doumo Arigato Gozaimasu, for creating japanesepod101.com! I was actually planning to wait until I was caught up to review, but when I saw that no reviewers had posted (at least not here anyhow) the response to your inquery on the subject of "ossu", I was overtaken with an irrepresable urge to review right at this very moment. So, if you haven't already found out from some other source, ossu is slang for good morning. It is the first and last part of ohayo gozaimasu. So now you know, if you didn't already. Hopefully I was helpful, or perhaps somewhat entertaining. Hopefully you will at least recieve my review, as it is rather far back here. Even if you don't find it until it ten years from now, and it's stale and moldy, daijoubu desu yo (because Jamie will hopefully have caught up by then anyway)! I vividly remember the black tile roofs and the fabulous park and gardens - a must for any visitor. If I remember correctly the first fountain in Japan is in the park. Keep up the wonderful lessons - I look forward to them every day. Kanazawa is a wonderful place to visit.
